HIAF does not sell, rent, share, or otherwise provide personal information collected to anyone outside the organization unless otherwise requested by you or by law. For example, your personal information may be used to respond to your scholarship application, requests, or to process your donations. HIAF maintains appropriate electronic and physical safeguards over its systems to prevent unauthorized access and/or use.
HIAF does not collect personally identifiable information from individuals unless they provide it voluntarily and knowingly.
You can visit the website without telling the organization who you are or revealing any personal information. Your voluntarily provided information may be shared with third parties as required to
(i) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, subpoena/court order, legal process or other government request,
(ii) investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations,
(iii) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of this organization, its users or the public as required or permitted by law and
(iv) detect, prevent, or otherwise address criminal (including fraud or stalking), security, or technical issues.
We may occasionally ask for your feedback via surveys or other communications to better understand your interests and needs. We will also request information through online forms used to register for an event. HIAF does not share or make public the personal information gathered through our website for these purposes.
Throughout our website, we offer links to third-party sites (i.e., Facebook, Instagram). Since we do not control those websites, we encourage you to review their privacy policies as well. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for their policies. Please check the individual policies before you submit any information to those websites.
HIAF has contracted the services of Stripe to process credit card donations and to ensure that all credit card information submitted through this site is safely and securely transmitted over the web. HIAF does not record or store your credit card information when donations are submitted online.
No security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems 100%. In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and, where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.
CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY
We may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect the changes in our business and practices, and so you should review this page periodically. When we change the policy in a material manner, we will let you know and update the ‘last modified’ date at the bottom of this page. Use of the website after changes to the policies will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms.
